近くに広い倉庫の骨董屋さんがあるため、
来るたびに内装が変わり、新顔の古道具や
シェフの好きな昔の梯子や階段が増えています。

五月のある日、南大阪・富田林の寺内町にある
「自然食レストラン 暮らし屋」のオーナーシェフから電話がありました。
「自然食レストラン 暮らし屋」のオーナーシェフから電話がありました。
「ＭＪわかる？英語上達しました？彼女に代わりますね！」
One day, I got a phone call from Krashiya's owner chef .
Kurashiya is a organic restaurant in south Osaka.
He said, "Do you remember Ms.M. Are you ready to speak English? I 'll connect you to her."

ひさしぶりの英会話に心構えていると、
「あいこさん。暮らしやさんにはツギ、いつきますか？」
Ｍ.Ｊの日本語はとても上達していました。
She said,
"Aiko-san, Kurashi-ya san niwa tugi, itu kimasu ka?"
Her Japanese had greatly improved.
カナダ人のＭ.Ｊは暮らし屋の常連さんです。
She said,

夏に帰国することになり、それまでに器が欲しいそうです。
一番のお気に入りの器を妹に取られてしまったと言います。
６月２２日の日曜日に暮らし屋さんで展示をする約束をしました。

暮らし屋さんはオーナー自ら内装や外壁を作ったお店です。
近くに広い倉庫の骨董屋さんがあるため、
来るたびに内装が変わり、新顔の古道具や
シェフの好きな昔の梯子や階段が増えています。

窓には古いガラスや欄間がコラージュされています。

ここで佐ノ川谷藍子の器が使われています。
棚や洗いかごには見覚えのある器が
現役で活躍しています。
7年近く使っていただいているものもあります。
Rice bowls and dishes, cups of my works have used here since seven years ago.
「だいぶ藍子さんの湯呑が売れちゃってね～。減ってるんですよ。」
とオーナーさん。
ここの野草茶は湯呑の底の方からだんだんしみ込んで
良い景色を作り
ゆのみが良く育つのです。
He said, "My cups I bought from you has decreased. But I got a little money."
お客さんが譲ってくれ、手に吸いついて離れないから持って帰る、というので
適当に値段をつけて、
また展示に来るように勧めてくれているそうです。
His customers said,
"Could I take this cup my home?"

うちの器はここの料理と相性が良いようです。
藁灰や長石などの自然釉の白が
色味の少ない発酵食品や大豆ビーフの背景になります。
These bowls are matching well with the cuisine of this restaurant.
ご近所の方、一時間かけてきてくれる方、
顔なじみの暮らし屋の常連さん。
手のひらの中で視線を受け、ひとつふたつと器が動き出します。
紙袋に包んだり、お客さんのリュックにつめたり、
その人のそれぞれの場所に器が発ちます。

友達をたくさん連れてＭ.Ｊが来てくれました。
「Long time no see!」

ハグのあと、
「Thank you for your coming! 」

が重なりました。

お友達に英語で説明します。
４年前に発起して、轆轤をしながらＮＨＫラジオの英語番組を毎日すべて聞き、
駅前の教室に通って、２年前にはアメリカに一ヶ月間ホームステイしました。
wheel（ろくろ） の発音がむずかしくいつも伝わりにくいので、
舌の動きに気をつけて言い直したり、手と足で動作をつけます。
「Oh! foot power.」
（ああ！足で回すのか。）
「So, It has soft atmosphere, and easy to take.」
（だから、柔らかい雰囲気で持ちやすいんです。）
I tried to explain to her friends in English.
But, I can't speak English well.
It's difficult to speak pottery "wheel" in correct pronunciation for me.
After the movement by my hands and leags, and try again.
"Oh! foot power."
"So, It has soft atmosphere, and easy to take."
「これにはナッツを入れて」
「アパタイザー（前菜）を並べて」
「おみやげに渡すとして」
彼女の視線を通して、器が行く場所が見えてきます。
I imagine the using place through her sight.
Ｍ.Ｊは推敲を重ね、
いくつかを棚にもどし、
いくつかを自分の前に置き、
また器を見つめます。
She repeated elaboration,
some of bowls were returned to the shelf,
some of bowls were placed in front of her,
and she looked my works again.
彼女の場所に発つ器が決まります。
Bowls to leave in her place is determined.
